Brezel sells out on official opening day

Varsity Lakes’ newest addition, Brezel—Authentic German Bakery made a splash over the weekend, selling out on its official opening day.

Minister of Home Affairs Karen Andrews cut the ribbon at the brand new bakery at Market Square, and owner Michelle Roth was there to hand out free freshly-baked pretzels to the hungry patrons who queued for a taste of the authentic crusty sourdough, rye breads, Bavarian leberkaes, Franz rolls, pudding pretzels and cake slices on offer.

“Congratulations to Michelle and her wonderful team on the official opening of Brezel in Varsity Lakes,” the MP wrote in a Facebook post.
“Michelle’s dream for her authentic German bakery is to create a space for European ex-pats to enjoy the taste of home and connect with each other. As well as share the taste of Germany with all Gold Coasters.”
Meanwhile Michelle thanked customers for the turnout and reassured those that missed out that there would be plenty more where they came from.
“Waking up with a huge smile on our face today because yesterday was just out of this world,” she wrote on Sunday.
“We knew this community is amazing but we didn’t expect this level of support. so from the bottom of our heart THANK YOU.”
“We had a complete sell out and we want to apologise to anyone that missed out on the German goodies. But don’t be sad, we’ll be back on TUESDAY from 6am to 4.30pm with more pretzels and co”.
Brezel will trade Monday to Friday from 6am to 4.30pm and Saturday from 6am to 12pm.
