Kingsway Clock finally fixed by Pie Face and Fox FM

Pie Face has recently teamed up with Fox FM’s Fifi, Fev, and Nick to restore the iconic Kingsway Clock in Melbourne’s Southbank.

On September 16 at 8.35am, the Kingsway Clock, after more than 10 years of only being right twice a day, started to tick again. The Kingsway Clock had been standing proud attached to a post in a Pie Face carpark, doing absolutely no ticking for all that time.

When Fox FM team, Fifi, Fev, and Nick moved into their new studios a few months ago, they noticed that the Kingsway Clock across the road was fixed to the same time, all the time. “It was not working, it hasn’t been working for 10 years,” said Fifi Box on the radio show.

So, the team decided, for the greater good of the commuters who drove past on the bust road every day that they would contact Pie Face and begin a campaign to get the clock fixed.

A ceremony was soon organised, with Pie Face Kingsway jumping eagerly on board the ‘fixing of the clock’.

During a live broadcast, complete with a performance of the National Anthem, the Kingsway clock was brought out of retirement, and the Melbourne icon had a steady heartbeat once more.

Pie Face, who recently won 19 medals at this year’s Official Great Aussie Pie Competition, topped off the event by specially designing pies with Fifi, Fev and Nick’s face on them, which were sold at the grand event.
