Popular Perth-based bakery, Wild  Bakery, has announced a new business addition: a hole in the wall-style shop, which will open in North Fremantle.

Approved by Fremantle Council in early July, the new venture would see the South Fremantle mainstay bring the coffee and baked goods it’s renowned for to the area.

The move was described as a sweet idea by City of Fremantle mayor Hannah Fitzhardinge.

“North Freo is a series of islands cut off by roads; it’s actually really important people can get to something in their local area,” she said.

The new site will be home to two staff members, and no food production will take place onsite. Despite that, it’s being touted as a one stop shop for both coffee and baked goods.

Wild Bakery general manager Rita Galipo said the new shop would be a community-focused takeaway and foods outlet rather than a destination venue.

“We do not envisage or desire to be a destination venue,” she said.

“This isn’t aimed to be a high volume, large scale operation. This is a hole in the wall, takeaway coffee focus and bread space with no food manufacturing on site.

Ms Galipo told Perth Now there were many voice of support behind the idea.

The South Fremantle-based Wild Bakery first opened more than a decade ago.
