Coolest new bakery in town

Bruns Coolest new bakery in town in Brunswick Heads, NSW opened its doors in November last year and it has received an overwhelming response from the community. It’s no wonder, considering their impressive, ever-changing, fresh items on offer such as cronut bowls, golden lattes, coffee eclairs, quiches, pies, and a tonne of sourdough varieties to name a few, all made from scratch in a really cool atmosphere.

The Coolest new bakery in town underwent extensive renovations before opening to pare back the building to its original style – a 1950’s industrial look with lots of exposed, recycled timber.

Owners Sean Crilley and Kurt Hogan are running the shop alongside wives Mel and Jane, with Sean’s background being fresh produce and Kurt being a baker.

Customers can watch the bakers and pastry chefs at work in the store as everything is made on-site, including croissants made from scratch from New Zealand butter, as well as pies made from local meat and pastry made on site. There’s even seating around the area where the bakers work, which is great to teach both young and old about how beautiful, fresh food is made.

There are quite a few vegetarian options at Bruns, as well as vegan and gluten-free selections, including items such as sandwiches, pies, and salads.

Another point of difference is their soft-serve machine. Soft-serves are only $2, so it’s perfect for popping in and grabbing an old favorite, plus it’s used to make their delicious thick shakes as well.
