Zumbo Takes Macarons To The Streets

Fans of Adriano Zumbo’s signature macarons were in seventh-heaven as he took to the streets to hand out bite-sized treats from specially-decorated Renault Trafic food trucks in November.

Priced at $2.50 each, Adriano’s gourmet macaron flavours included blackened vanilla bean, raspberry shortbread, salted butter popcorn, chocolate peanut butter and jelly, pancake and maple syrup, caramel au beurre sale (salted caramel), peach iced tea, passion fruit, and tonka bean.

Adriano appeared at several food stops to greet fans and to give away limited copies of his newly released book Zumbaron.

This was the first time Adriano has taken his food trucks – aptly called ‘zumbarons’ – on a road trip. Acknowledging the vehicles provided a colourful and recognisable mobile storefront, Adriano said the initiative was a novel and practical way to ferry his delicate macarons to each location.

“With the rise in popularity of food trucks I have been so keen to take my products to people who can’t necessarily make it into my stores,” Adriano said.

“Renault has been the perfect partner for this venture and I am delighted to be working with them to make our joint vision a reality.”

Renault Australia managing director Justin Hocevar said the company was thrilled to work with Adriano on such an exciting promotional initiative, and even handed out free macaron vouchers to 200 followers on Facebook.

“The Renault Trafic zumbaron food trucks represent the perfect opportunity for us to work together with our new brand ambassador to create a unique and tasty experience,” Justin said.
