US winter wheat plantings lowest in 100 years

The US winter wheat plantings Agriculture Department has reported winter wheat plantings in the US are at their lowest in more than a century as supplies reach a nearly 30-year high, according to Business Recorder.

Falling wheat prices have already seen farmers in key production areas altering their traditional acreage splits.

Due to the oversupply, it’s predicted farmers will plant soybeans or corn in conjunction with wheat crops in the near future.
