Hokkaido-style Japanese cheese tart stores reach our shores stores are pumping out their gooey cheese tarts and although a dessert chain, favour the savoury flavour of the cheese with a subtle sweetness at the end.
They’re made with three different types of cheese and set in a shortcrust shell that is crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. The tarts can be eaten hot or cold, each giving a different but delectable texture.
Japan’s north Island Hokkaido-style tart stores reach our shores and are known for wilder landscapes and dairy products.
The chain is owned by food company ST group, which also launched PappaRich and NeNe Chicken in Australia.
