Pie Face Caters To Gluten-free Market

Bakery franchise Pie Face has released a low gluten pie in an effort to capture the burgeoning special dietary market.

The pie contains only gluten-free ingredients, including chunks of locally-grown beef braised with onions, garlic and gravy, encased in low gluten pastry.

Senior marketing manager Kim Carlon said the decision to expand the existing pie offering was influenced by listening to customer-feedback.

“We knew there was an opportunity within the low gluten/gluten-free category, so we have been working really hard to make this pie a reality,” she said.

2014 is set to be a big year for Pie Face, with strong plans for the release of new, innovative products throughout the year. The brand is actively working on extending its low-gluten product range to incorporate other product lines.

The low gluten pie followed the summer release of Pie Face’s sweet mini pies, which are now available in-stores nationally.
