Further details and ticketing has been announced ahead of the LA Judge award.
The Australian and New Zealand competition is set to be held from May 7-9, 2024, at AEGIC Sydney.
After putting their practical baking skills, technical knowledge and communication skills to the test across three days, the LA Judge Award winner will be announced at the Gala Dinner.
The Gala Dinner and award ceremony will be held on May 9, 2024, at the Sydney Masonic Centre. Tickets are now available for purchase.
2023 winner Bjarke Svendsgarrd said competing in LA Judge made him feel more passionate about baking.
“…[it] made me want to improve my skills. While the practical was nerve-wracking, the relief and feeling of success when we finished made the experience worth it,” he said.
“The whole competition has been awesome and memorable.”
Competitors must be nominated by their employer or training institution via a baking association to represent their state.
The LA Judge competition, Gala Dinner and award ceremony are run on a not-for-profit basis by the Australian Export Grains Innovation Centre (AEGIC).
More information about the competition criteria and awards can be found on the AEGIC website.
