In what could be one of the biggest free cookie drives the country has ever seen, Mrs. Fields Australia will donate 100,000 cookies to various charities around the country.
The company put the call out to registered Australian charities, schools and not-for-profit organisations, and will accept applications via their Facebook page until the end of 2012.
Mrs. Fields Australia managing director Andrew Benefield said the cookies retail for up to $2.95 each, giving the initiative the potential to generate almost $300,000 for worthwhile causes.
“Maybe your school is fundraising for a library extension, your son’s footy club needs new jerseys or you need to provision your solo row to New Zealand; we’ll assess each application seperately and make sure Mrs. Fields cookies are really giving something back to the community.”
