Sourdough Bakery Opens Café Concept

Sydney’s Sonoma HQ now has a new home, with the official opening of its Alexandria café in July.

The new Alexandria HQ café and bread shop is the baking business’ fifth and largest retail outlet. Every type of Sonoma loaf will be for sale at the current premises, their new pastries will be available to eat in or takeaway and Single Origin coffee will be pumping from the new machine as well as on-premise wine.

Sonoma HQ’s new head chef, Tiffany Harras has been given the reigns of the new kitchen that includes a pizza oven and all the mod cons to cater for the 50-seat café as well as any events on-site.

Ms Harras has two decades of experience under some of Sydney’s top chefs including Dietmar Sawyere at Forty One Restaurant and Lee Kwiez at Milsons Restaurant, Kirribilli.

The new Sonoma HQ café is the culmination of an intense period of growth and consolidation for Sonoma that began in late 2010 when they moved all their baking operations to the Alexandria premises.

The 2800 sq m Sonoma HQ bakery supplies many of Sydney’s top restaurants with breads; including Quay, est., Sepia, Buon Ricordo, Icebergs Dining Room & Bar and Tetsuya’s.
