Queensland Baking Show 2023

Earlier this year on September 27, the Baking Association of Australia (BAA) hosted the Queensland Baking Show in Brisbane, Qld. The event was a success, BAA events officer Mary Jacobson said.

“The turnout was good, with over 35 exhibitors,” she said.

“The competition was well attended—the judges tasted and judged entries from [those] exhibitors.”

Adam Kane from Baker’s Delight, Arana Hills, took home many of the awards on offer, winning  first place in many of the different categories as well as taking home the title of Champion Loaf of the Show for his ciabatta loaf.

Champion Cake/Pastry of the Show was won by Squealing Pig for their BBQ pulled pork and cheese pie.

Mary said, “The standard and quality of entries was the best QLD has put forward. The gourmet pie class was the most popular, with some incredibly tasty pies entered. We can’t wait to see what they enter for Australia’s Best Pie & Pastie competition next June.”
