The Baking Association of Australia (BAA) is calling for entries to the 2024 Queensland Baking Show.

Set to be held on May 22 at the Queensland TAFE campus, the Sunshine State’s best bakers are expected to turn out on the day.

The 2023 event saw more than 35 exhibitors attend.

BAA events officer Mary Jacobson said last year’s competition was well attended.

“The standard and quality of entries was the best Queensland has put forward,” she said.

“The gourmet pie class was the most popular , with some incredibly tasty pies entered.

“We can’t wait to see what they enter for enter for Australia’s Best Pie & Pastie competition next June.

Adam Kane from Baker’s Delight Arana Hills took home many of the 2023 awards, as well as the title of Champion Loaf of the Show for his ciabatta loaf. Champion Cake/Pastry of the Show was claimed by Squealing Pig for their barbecue pulled port and cheese pie.

Entries are now open, and forms are available on the BAA website.
