Feeling A Bit Tarty?

Bernard Chu and Yen Yee have built a cult following for their Asian-inspired French pastries at Melbourne bakery-café LuxBite. Now, the pair has opened T by LuxBite, and old-school tart shop with a contemporary twist.

An entirely different concept to the South Yarra dine-in pâtisserie, which specialises in macarons and cakes, T by LuxBite won’t offer coffee, tea or brunch.

“This place is all about dashing in and picking up sweet treats on-the-go,” Bernard said.

Aside from a litany of sweet tarts, T by LuxBite will also stock the brand’s macarons and retail products – including its vanilla caramel, salted caramel and kaya coconut jam – and collaborations with local food producers including Wondersnack, Mörk Chocolate and N2 Extreme Gelato.

The visual spectacle doesn’t stop with the food. The pair embarked on a design project with architect Weian Lim, who has created a dynamic and modern space.

“The design focus was geared towards luxurious finishes and a clear and legible design strategy to not only showcase the products on sale, but to also enhance the shop’s brand through an inviting customer experience,” the architect firm said.

T by LuxBite and can be found at 2/517 Flinders Lane.
