With all of the state rounds of the Excellence in Baking Competition now complete, all of the successful apprentices in the pastry and bread categories are now preparing themselves for the national competition. The Excellence in Baking national competition will be hosted by the Baking Industry Trade Show, and the announcement of the national winners will take place on June 1 at the National Excellence in Baking Awards Dinner at Wentworth Park, Sydney.
“The Excellence in Baking is one the most prestigious events for the baking industry, promoting some the best apprentices we have across Australia as they come together as one to compete at the Trade Show in front of a live audience.,” said Tony Smith, executive officer of the Baking Association of Australia, who are organising the Baking Industry Trade Show.
“Apprentice Pastry finalist will compete on Tuesday May 30 and Apprentice Bread Finalists will compete on Wednesday May 31. The official awards dinner will take place at the QVB TEA Rooms in Sydney on Wednesday night May 31st with a very special guest who will meet and present the official winners.
“The BAA are very honoured to have the Governor of NSW Her Excellency The Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, who will attend the dinner and announce the winners on the evening,” Tony continued.
“Our thanks also go out to EOI and Vanrooy Machinery for their support and the many industry support sponsors.”
