Connecting With The Masters

Holmesglen Hospitality students were involved in a number of events and classes in conjunction with the Melbourne Food & Wine Festival in March. They experienced viewing the talents of celebrity chefs from around the world as well as working alongside many big names in multiple events during the festival.

According to Holmesglen, their students experienced assisting internationally renowned chefs including Nigella Lawson from the UK and Elena Arzak from Spain with food preparation behind the scenes. Tourism and events students assisted with general event set up and ushering for the festival, and their talented third year cookery apprentices with a true eye for detail assisted celebrity chefs on stage with food preparation.

Holmesglen’s students also got a chance to team up with the best of the local talent that Melbourne had to offer including Alla Wolf Tasker, George Calombaris and Philippe Mouchel. They shared their stories, listened to their secrets and in most cases tasted their wonders.

Holmesglen runs hospitality, cookery and bakery training programs on two of its three campuses, Moorabbin and Waverley. Both are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, award- winning trainers and have dedicated training restaurants: Cilantro at Moorabbin and Zest at the Waverley campus.
