Boost In Specialty Bread

According to a recent report in The Courier-Mail, specialty bread varieties are becoming more popular with customers while white bread sales growth has slowed Australia-wide.

The report says business analysts believe health-conscious consumers are eating less bread overall but spending more on organic, wholegrain and gourmet varieties.

White bread sales still dominate the market, however, retail market analyst IBIS World expects gourmet breads to claim a growing percentage of the market share this year, with the sector forecast to grow by an impressive 14.1 per cent.
