Makes 18 brownies
WHAT YOU NEED
1 cup unsalted butter
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
2 cups granulated sugar
4 large eggs
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1½ cups all-purpose flour
½ tsp kosher salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp flaky sea salt, for garnishing
WHAT TO DO
Preheat the oven to 350°F/175°C. Lightly spray a 9 × 13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray and set aside.
Place the butter and chocolate chips in a large microwave-safe bowl. Heat in the microwave for about 90 seconds, whisking every 30 seconds, until the chocolate chips are melted and smooth. Whisk in the sugar, then add the eggs, one at a time, and stir until smooth. Stir in the vanilla and the cocoa powder. Add the flour, salt, and baking powder, and stir until well incorporated.
Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking dish. Bake for about 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Immediately sprinkle the hot brownies with the sea salt. Let cool completely before slicing and serving.
