Melbourne’s famous 15-year-old doughnut entrepreneur Permanent Bistro Morgan Hipworth Store has opened his flagship store Bistro Morgan in High Street, Windsor.
Permanent Bistro Morgan Hipworth store renovations and start up costs were funded entirely on the back of a hugely successful year for Morgan in 2016, selling his signature overloaded doughnuts with syringes of delicious filling to cafes around Melbourne.
Late last year Morgan also held a doughnut pop-up store, which sold 10,000 units in one week.
But while the pressures of running a business and attending school would be a great deal of pressure, Morgan told The Sydney Morning Herald one of the biggest challenges he’s faced is people not taking him seriously because of his age.
“I’m not your average 15-year-old,” he said.
“I’ve got all the proper council applications, I’ve done three barista courses and I think about my business 24/7.”
Morgan says he does it because he loves it, and enjoys the ins and outs of running a business.
