Dolly's Donuts has taken home the top title in the National Donut Competition

For the second year running Sydney-based Dolly’s Donuts has been crowned the Australian champion, after taking out the  National Donut Competition.

The competition, held as part of The Baking Industry Trade Show, saw entrants from across Australia head to Queensland’s Gold Coast to take part.

Dolly’s Donuts took home the gold trophy for their Nachos Donut, which also placed first in the Savoury Creation category. Their Truffle Mac & Cheese donut came in second in the same category and their Banh Mi donut was third. But, they didn’t stop there, also pocketing second and third place in the Gourmet Donut category with their Mango Weis donut and Lemon Meringue donuts, and also took home silver in Traditional Jam Donut category with their strawberry jam entry.

When announcing the win on social media, they credited the wins to the Dolly’s Donuts team.

“To our incredible team who put their hearts into every batch, our customers who support our crazy ideas, and everyone who has backed us along the way — thank you,” they wrote on Instagram.

“We’re beyond proud to see Dolly’s recognised on the national stage alongside some of the best bakers in Australia. The late nights, early mornings and endless taste testing were worth it.

“Bowral & Glenbrook, these award-winning donuts are coming home.”
