Pastry chefs combine for Sweet Set Sundays at Grub

A selection of Melbourne’s most talented chefs folk are putting on a show this August and September with a series of decadent high teas and Sweet Set Sundays.

Sundays over the next two months will see Melbourne’s pastry scene come together to present eight dessert afternoons in the greenhouse at Grub. The greenhouse belongs to Timm Mann and Mark Murphy, who run Grub Food Van from the site.

During the next two months, Melbourne pastry chefs will take turns hosting Sundays, where they’ll treat guests to a tasting menu of signature treats.

Sweet Set launched on August 6, with Melbourne’s pastry king and queen, Philippa Sibley and Pierre Roelofs, collaborating on a dessert menu for the first time. The duo explored light and dark with Philippa using flavours like rose, geranium and mandarin, while Pierre used chocolate, caramel and nuts.

Sweet Set will also feature the likes of Jo Barrett, Cobb Lane, LuxBite, Bibelot, Citizen Cacao (raw/vegan), Fig & Salt and All are Welcome’s Boris Portnoy.

Sweet Set Decadent Sundays run every Sunday until September 24.
