Innovation Abounds At Iba 2012

This year’s iba 2012 World Market for Baking trade fair will kick off with an international conference called iba Summit.

Held in Munich from September 15 to 21, this year’s iba will once again demonstrate innovations for the baking industry that will shape domestic and foreign markets over the next three years. Iba is an essential trade event for bakers and confectioners from around the world as well as caterers, restaurateurs and decision-makers from the food retail sector. In addition to the many innovations in the 12 trade fair halls, visiting trade professionals will also find an expanded range of offerings and the new special area called “Coffee, cake & more”. Here, in a space of around 250sqm, numerous coffee machine manufacturers and coffee roasters will exhibit their products and services.

The new dialogue platform, the iba summit, created by the German Bakers’ Confederation, forms the prelude to the trade fair. The summit program features a host of expert speakers discussing topics such as food safety, sustainability, renewable energy, global markets, baking sector trends, new technologies and online marketing.

In addition to the usual iba fields of expertise of production technology and raw ingredients, the range of offerings will be increased at the upcoming world market for baking. For example, the areas of logistics, shop fittings, process optimisation, coffee and packaging technology have been expanded.
