Brumby’s launches new sourdough range

As Australians are increasingly becoming more Brumby’s launches new sourdough and health-conscious, they are turning towards artisan bread as a flavorsome and healthy option.

Brumby’s Bakery general manager David Dinnes says as Aussies look for more health-conscious products, they turn to their local baker as a source of wholesome ingredients and freshly baked products.

“Brumby’s focuses on providing families with home-grown goodness – all of our bread products are made with 100 percent Aussie wheat and are baked from scratch every day by a local baker,” he said.

“While the traditional white and wholemeal sandwich loaves remain popular, in recent times we have seen a rise in artisan-style products.

“Our artisan range is one of the highest-selling ranges across our bakeries and has been drawing attention in the market place.”

To meet this trend, Brumby’s is working on developing a new range that fits into the artisan category, focuses on health consciousness and also caters to consumers’ gourmet entertaining needs.

“The new authentic sourdough range includes four new products, each made with levain culture that must be fed flour and water each day in order to survive,” David said.

“Levain is not as sour as other starters that are used in commercial kitchens and needs to rest for 12 hours to ferment before it can be kneaded and shaped.”

Brumby’s launches new sourdough dropped off some of their sourdough to the Baking Business team and it was pretty yummy.
