Brisbane’s early risers are in for a treat this weekend. On June 7 Rise Bakery’s Newstead location will host its second ‘Rise & Rave’ event from 10:30 AM.
Following a successful debut on May 3, the event is set to transform the riverside bakery into a vibrant morning gathering spot, combining the best of European café culture with Brisbane’s laid-back charm.
The bakery announced the event via Instagram, with video giving a teaser of the fun to come.
“Brisbane’s coolest morning party returns! Once a month, Rise Bakery Newstead transforms into a full-blown morning rave: espresso shots flowing, DJ spinning, and pastries flying off the shelves,” the bakery said.
“Come celebrate, refuel, and vibe with us!”
Rise & Rave is inspired by the emerging trend in cities like Berlin, Paris, and Copenhagen, where cafés and bakeries host early morning DJ sets and community events.
Rise Bakery isn’t the only one to embrace a morning dance party, as other Brisbane bakeries and coffee breweries have held their own events in recent months.
AM Social is one of the major organisations that are supporting venues to host these events. Daniella Boughen, a member of the AM Social team suggested that the method of partying has changed for Australian youth. It is this change that is attracting popularity to the rising bakery trend.
“I think the younger generations are shifting towards more of a wellness lifestyle, versus going out late, binge drinking and partying that way,” Daniella told InDaily QLD.
In collaboration with the Breakfast Creek Lifestyle Precinct (BLCP), the ‘Rise & Rave’ event aims to create a unique morning experience for all ages. It is at this event that Rise Bakery will seamlessly blend culture, coffee, music, and movement.
Attendees can expect DJ sets by Miguel Madan, second-hand designer fashion available for purchase from The Curated Market, and Rise Bakery’s signature French-style pastries and coffee.
The relaxed, riverside setting provides the perfect backdrop for connecting with friends, people-watching, or simply enjoying the music and sunshine. As Rise Bakery aptly puts it, “This is how mornings were meant to feel.”
