Brisbane-based patisserie Chouquette has announced its shock closure following almost 2 decades of business.
The patisserie made the announcement on social media in early June, noting they had closed their doors in late May.
“Dear valued customers, after a wonderful journey filled with sweet memories and cherished moments, our French patisserie will be closing its doors,” they wrote.
“We want to express our heartfelt gratitude for your loyalty and support over the years. It has been our pleasure to share our passion for French pastries with you.
“Thank you for being part of our story.”
The patisserie also revealed another business would be taking over the Barker Street, New Farm, shopfront.
The announcement was met with a number of comments.
“Sad to see you go. New Farm will be a ghost town at this rate,” one commenter shared.
“Oh no! Where will I get my Gougères? So sorry to see you go,” another wrote.
Chouquette was first opened in 2006 by Lara Keating, before the business was sold in 2018 to current owners Fabrice and Meggy Delaunay.
