After numerous state rounds, the 2024 Excellence in Baking winners have been announced.
It was a clean sweep for New South Wales, with Connor Beisler from Barrington Bakery taking out the Baking award, and William Nickl from Gumnut Patisserie claiming the pastry award.
The duo were presented with their trophies at the Excellence in Baking Awards dinner, which was held as part of Baking Association of Australia’s Baking Industry Trade Show this month. As part of their award both Connor and William will receive a scholarship from Rosewood Research that will allow them to visit an artisan bakery and farm to expand their studies on both bread and pastry.
