The Australian baking industry is preparing to come together for the annual Baking Industry Trade Show in Melbourne.

Set to be held at the Moonee Valley Racecourse in June, this year the the show has grown with some extra areas established for the bakery owner and participants. These include:

• The Australia’s Best Pie and Pastie Comp; and

• The National Conference.

These two flagship events are fully supported by Allied Industry Suppliers and the industry itself.

There will also be an industry cocktail party on June 4, which will be free for industry participants.

Two new areas have been added this year as well.

The Excellence in Baking National Apprentice Competition will see the state apprentice finalist compete in front of the trade show visitors on Tuesday, June 4 and Wednesday, June 5, with The Excellence in Baking Awards Evening being hosted at the trade show on June 5.

The National Artisan Baking Competition and Demonstration Area will bring the authentic artisan baker in to see new and wonderful ways of artisanal baking with demos being held every day during the three days of the trade show, with a National Competition of judging being held on June 5. Entry forms and schedules will be available soon.

The Trade Show area will include bakery ingredient suppliers, specific bakery machinery manufacturers and business and technical support.
