The Good Food and Wine Show is set to descend on Brisbane from October 25-27, 2025.
Touted as Brisbane’s tastiest day out, the event brings together a huge array of producers from across the nation.
More than 300 of Australia’s top tastemakers are expected to exhibit at the show, which will also include a number of masterclasses.
At the heart of the Good Food and Wine Show is the Harvey Normal Kitchen. It’s here that some of Australia’s best known bakers and chefs will take to the stage for live cooking demonstrations.
Watch on as Kirsten Tibballs, Miguel Mastre, Donna Hay and Emelia Jackson dish out mouth-watering recipe ideas, tips, tricks, and techniques that are sure to inspire.
Baking Business magazine caught up with Emelia Jackson ahead of the Brisbane event to find out what attendees can expect.
What can we expect to see from you at The Good Food & Wine Show? What will your demonstration involve?
I will be doing what I do best – baking, but this time, with a savoury edge. Using the versatile and delicious Le Gruyere AOP, I will be baking two easy and impressive pastries that will be sure to impress.
What do you think the secret is to creating the perfect baked good?
There are a couple of secrets I think; firstly, balance. Whether baking sweet or savoury treats, they need to be balanced in flavour and texture. Secondly, I think we have a tendency to undercook our baked goods – go hard on the caramelisation! Give your pastries an extra 10 minutes in the oven to really toast out the flour and give the deepest flavour.
The Good Food & Wine Show is now just days away. What can people expect from it?
As the country’s longest running food and wine show, this event brings together almost every aspect of food and drink that you can think of. From celebrity chef demonstrations (like from me!) to over 1000 food and beverage producers to shop and sample from, you really can easily spend the full three days at this event.
What are you personally most looking forward to at the show?
I can’t wait for the Brisbane show for a few reasons. I get to connect with like-minded foodies and visitors; I am going to sample absolutely everything and I can’t wait to watch all the other talented chefs cooking. I will also be releasing my second book; Some of My Best Friends are Cookies at the show.
Where can we see you next?
I’ll also be appearing at the Melbourne Good Food and Wine Christmas Markets in December. I’ll be demonstrating how to make some delicious Christmas cookies, and when I’m not on stage, people will be able to find me on the floor buying up delicious treats as gifts!
Any final thoughts?
For those people in Brisbane, come to the Good Food & Wine Show to see me! It’s a three-day extravaganza of deliciousness, and for anyone with an interest in baking, there is inspiration at every turn. Plus lots of delicious baked goods to eat, if that’s your preference to cooking!
