The Baking Industry Employers’ Association of WA (BIEWA) had a very successful competition day on the May 15.

More than 400 entries made an appearance on the day and the quality was outstanding this year.

BIEWA secretary Paula Van Styn said the judges and stewards had a very challenging job on the day, given the high standard of entries.

β€œIt was encouraging to see new entrant bakeries, who were successful in becoming a finalist in this year’s awards,” she said.

β€œWe are extremely grateful to our fantastic sponsors; EOI/Peerless, Puratos, Millers Foods, Baketec Solutions, Bakers Delight, MBL Foods, Manildra Milling, Bakels, Mauri, Lake Deborah Salt and Lindsay Pie Making Equipment.

β€œMemberships and entries increased significantly from the small bakery sector and all winners will be announced at the annual WA Baking Industry Awards Gala Dinner, which will have the theme β€œA Night in Paris” and will be held at the Crown Perth on July 13, 2024.”

At this event, which will feature a three-course dinner, all the awards for the 2024 Baking Industry Awards will be announced: The AG (Tony) Noonan Award, Most Successful Apprentice, Champion Exhibit for both bread and pastry, and the Premier Pie Award.

Tickets for the Gala Awards Night are available now on the BIEWA website.
