Entries are officially open for the Baking Industry Association of WA’s 2026 Baking Industry Awards Competition.

The event, which will be held on May 27, 2026, will see a total of 60 classes across both bread and pastry, including 16 Gourmet classes. There will also be 10 Open Individual classes including five Gourmet Classes which are

For the first time ever in 2026 there are unlimited entries allowed in the Gourmet classes, which are also open to all home bakers, apprentices, bakers and pastry cooks.

The Baking Industry Awards Competition winners will then be announced at the BIAWA 2026 Gala Dinner and Awards Night, which will be held on August 8, 2026.

Included in this will be the presentation of the AG (Tony) Noonan Award, the Karel van Styn award, Most Successful Apprentice, Champion Exhibit in both Bread and Pastry, and the WA’s Best Pie Award.
