Throughout October Banjo’s Bakery is aiming to raise $25,000 for child safety, by donating 50 cents from every large coffee sold sold across its stores nationwide.

The bakery has the ultimate goal of selling 50,000 coffees throughout the month, with all funds raised being donated to the Daniel Morcombe Foundation.

The 2026 partnership was officially launched at Banjo’s Bakery Richlands, on October 1, by Banjo’s Richlands general manager Russell Glyde and Daniel Morcombe Foundation co-founders Bruce and Denise Morcombe.

Denise said Day for Daniel, which will be held om October 30 this year, was an important opportunity to bring communities together to give children the knowledge and confidence to help keep themselves safe.

“Day for Daniel brings together schools, early learning centres, families, workplaces and communities across Australia to have important conversations about child safety,” Mrs Morcombe said.

“Last year, approximately 269,000 children took part in Australia’s Biggest Child Safety Lesson as part of Day for Daniel, showing just how powerful these conversations can be when we come together.

Bruce said the funds raised through partnerships, like the one with Banjo’s Bakery, will help the foundation continue delivering vital child safety education and resources.

“Every contribution helps us continue Daniel’s legacy and our work to make Australia safer for children,” he said.

“The funds raised by Banjo’s will help us continue providing children, families and communities with access to child safety education and resources that can make a real difference.”

Russell said the campaign provided a meaningful way for Banjo’s to bring its local community together in support of an important cause.

“One thing that is really important to me is being able to give back to the community around me,” he said.

“Being able to make a contribution through something as simple as morning coffee is really special to us.”

Since 2020, Banjo’s partnership with the Daniel Morcombe Foundation has raised more than $75,000. This year’s campaign will bring together 23 Banjo’s Bakery stores across Queensland, NSW, Victoria, and South Australia.
