Beefyβs Pies has launched a fundraising initiative inspired by the NRL State of Origin rivalry between Queensland and New South Wales.
The limited-edition Steak vs. Steak pie campaign aims to raise more $28,000 for childrenβs health charity Give Me 5, which supports the Royal Childrenβs Hospital and its work with ill children across Australia.
Running from May 26 to July 9, the campaign centres on two specially created state-branded steak piesβeach 20 per cent larger than the brandβs standard offering and made using Beefyβs signature recipe with premium Queensland beef.
Customers can choose their state allegiance through their pie purchase, with $1 from every QLD or NSW pie sold donated to the charity. Sales are being tracked by state, creating a public scoreboard that taps into local pride to fuel participation.
Beefyβs general manager Jason Lyons believes that with a collective effort, they can surpass their previous fundraising efforts.
βOff the back of last yearβs incredible support, where we raised $25,000 for Give Me 5 through our QLD pies, weβre excited to go even bigger in 2025,β Jason told Mumbrella.
βThis year, itβs QLD vs. NSW as we bring the full rivalry to life with two epic pies, each proudly stamped with their state.β
The Steak vs. Steak pies are now available in-store at Beefyβs locations throughout the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, Toowoomba, and Ballina. They can also be purchased online through the Beefyβs app and for delivery with other food apps.
Beefyβs is ready for the ultimate showdown of flavour and state pride. As James excitedly noted, βThe challenge is on: whoβll eat more, give more, and show more pie prideβQueensland or New South Wales?β
