Tigga Mac on board to Bake A Wish

Make-A-Wish Australia and Campaign Ambassador Tigga Mac are launching the Bake A Wish fundraising campaign on World Baking Day on May 17

Australian bakers are being called to head to the kitchen to help raise vital funds for Make-A-Wish this World Baking Day.

Set to be held on May 17, the day will also see the launch of the organisation’s annual Bake A Wish fundraising campaign.

Joining the event in 2026 is Australian baker and online star Tigga Mac, who has come on board as campaign ambassador.

Tigga Mac said she was proud to be an Ambassador for the Bake A Wish campaign and, having undergone her own health journey, understood how difficult it can be to live with a critical illness.

“This campaign is very close to my heart, and I know how much difference moments of joy can bring to someone, especially children, undergoing what is a very difficult time,” Tigga said.

“My cakes are designed to do just that – colourful, fun, crazy and delicious creations that bring a little sweetness and joy into life, and I am so proud to be able to support Make-A-Wish.

“So, I want to encourage all Aussies to get on board, use their imagination and get creative in the kitchen, and help make wishes come true for kids who need it most.”

Make-A-Wish Australia CEO Sally Bateman said the Bake A Wish campaign was a great opportunity for cooks to unlock their imagination, get creative and bring friends, family or colleagues together to help make a meaningful difference to the lives of critically ill children.

“Our Bake A Wish campaign gives participants the chance to help bring to life the wishes of children and teenagers living with a critical illness,” Sally said.

“We are grateful to have Tigga Mac on board as our Campaign Ambassador, together with the support of our major partner Kitchen Warehouse. With their help, we hope to inspire some imaginative and creative baking and bring hope and joy to the more than 900 children across Australia currently on their Wish Journey.”

For more than 40 years, Make-A-Wish Australia has helped bring joy to children and their families who are dealing with the challenges of living with a critical illness.  Over 11,000 unique wishes have been granted, with each one sparked by the child’s imagination.

Participants can register online at Bake A Wish to receive a Bake A Wish fundraising kit and then start planning a bake sale or event for Bake A Wish Day, which will be held on Thursday, August 27.
