Nestled in the heart of Midtown New York, Angelina Bakery, led by Tony Park, offers a taste of Italy with a luxurious twist.
The bakeryβs most recent eye-catching creation is its $300, gold-encrusted bomboloni.
Coated in 24k gold flakes, adorned with edible jewels and delicate diamond pearls, itβs the epitome of indulgence. Inside, the bomboloni is filled with a rich cream, offering a delicious balance of luxury and flavour.
βThe clientele up here (the Upper East Side) is high-end, so the new bomboloni seems perfect,” Tony said to Page Six, adding the treat had been selling like hotcakes.
Born in Palermo, Italy and raised by his Italian grandmother, Giuliana βAnna,β Tony carries forward the baking traditions passed down from her.
After studying at the prestigious Scuola Alberghiera in Palermo, Italy, Tonyβs career led him to the United States, where he brought his vision of an Italian bakery to life. The golden donut is only one of the manifestations Tony has brought into reality within his baking space.
The bombolini was first seen on the Angelina Bakery Instagram in a now deleted post. Instead it was a TikTok food influencer that brought the golden doughnut to everyoneβs attention in a video showcasing an unboxing of the treat.
In the video, the bougee baked good was presented in a black Tiffany & Co. case, with dry ice enhancing the dramatic reveal.
It’s not the first time Angelina Bakery has taken their goods to the next level. In the past these have included serving ice cream from a custom Fiat car, and serving Valentine’s Day Burn Cakes where the top layer is ignited so that it burns away to reveal a hidden image.
