W&P Reedy took home the Best New Bakery Product Award at Fine Food Australia for its pastry press.
In a busy bakery environment, shaping pies by hand is a time-consuming process that leaves the door open to error – particularly when apprentices are involved. Thus, in its quest for the sector’s best new bakery product, Baking Business couldn’t go past W&P Reedy’s equipment promising productive performances and higher quality standards.
The Ferneto dough mould press is an industrial machine conceived to stamp doughs, replacing manual labour with durable automated production, with the capacity to pump out more than 1900 pastry shells in an hour.
With tough competition across equipment, services and finished product categories, W&P Reedy’s pastry press impressed judges with its price point – around $20,000 – and compact size suited for small-to-medium bakery businesses.
The company’s owner Adam Mining said the product resonated with visitors to the show because it offers the flexibility to make in bulk – to freeze or to on-sell to other food retailers.
Congratulations to Confoil, which also impressed the judging panel with its Eco Parchment Baking Trays – compostable, recyclable, microwavable, ovenable (to 220°C) and freezable (to -40°C).
