It comes as no surprise that Paris has topped the list of the top 10 cities for pastry from around the globe.
The list, compiled by Food & Wine, saw the city of lights’ pastry chefs credited for their flawless techniques, dedication to quality ingredients and keen eye for aesthetics.
Credited in the list of top Parisian patisseries were Boulangerie Utopie, home to baker Xavier Netry who was named as the winner of the 31st Paris’ annual Grand Prix de la Baguette prize in 2024., as well as Fou de Patisserie, and Des Gateaux et du Pain.
Copenhagen in Denmark landed in second place, closely followed by Budapest, Hungary in third. Melbourne came in ninth place, with locally grown bakeries Tarts Anon, Tokyo Lamington, and Lune Croissanterie all getting honourable mentions.
To help compile the list, Food & Wine compiled more than 400 chefs, travel experts, food and travel writers before turning the results over to the Global Advisory Board to rank the top nominees in ach city.
