Popular Adelaide bakery chain Abbots and Kinney has added a new location to their store line up.
The most recent store, located in Norwood in the city’s east, opened its doors in early September.
“It’s been an amazing start and we can’t wait to build a great community with you all,” the company wrote on social media.
“We’re excited for this new chapter.”
The newest shopfront joins the already established locations across Adelaide including in the CBD, Malvern, Westlakes, and at the UniSA and University of Adelaide campuses.
The last store to open its doors, located at King William Street in the CBD, was met with great excitement. The decision to set up shop in the $220 million office tower was described as a “no brainer” by managing director Richard Wilson.
“It’s an amazing location with a beautiful heritage-listed entrance. We’ve really tried to tie in with it,” he said to Glam Adelaide at the time.
However, the chain also made the tough decision to close the doors to its Croydon store earlier this year, citing increasing prices and an expiring lease. The store was opened in 2019 and was housed in the former Red Door Bakery site.
“You’ve been so kind to us over the past years, but unfortunately our time here has come to an end,” Richard said at the time.
Abbots and Kinney first opened its doors in 2015 with its inaugural location at Pirie Street. Since then they have cemented themselves as one Adelaide’s most popular businesses.
