Global food service event SIRHA Lyon is set to return once again in 2025.
The tradeshow for catering, hospitality and food professionals will take place from January 23-27, 2025 at Eurexpo Lyon.
With an increased emphasis on international participation, it is anticipated the 2025 event will see 25 per cent international exhibitors. There will be dedicated pavilions for Belgium, China, Italy, Japan, and Spain.
SIRHA Lyon will also play host to the Pastry World Cup, which this year will also include the Show Chocolate by Valrhona. This will see 20 teams creating chocolate desserts based around the theme Chocolate Street Food. Using Madagascar Valrhona chocolate the participants will design an entire setting around the desserts.
The Pastry World Cup was created in 1989, and currently sees teams of three people – a pastry chef, chocolate maker and an ice cream maker – to take on the various tests, which are in line with contemporary issues.
The 20 teams will be put to the test. Each will have nine hours to create 3+9 tasting desserts and three artistic pieces before presenting them to the jury. This year Amaury Guichon will be the honorary president and president of the jury.
GL Events Exhibitions Operations Managing Director Luc Dubanchet said SIRHA Lyon stands as the spearhead of strategic transformations in the Food Service sector.
“Faced with a complex and changing economic environment, it establishes itself as the international stage where key players in hospitality come together to anticipate and address future challenges,” he said.
“It serves as a place of resilience, where professionals join forces to tackle global challenges and turn them into opportunities.”
