Black Star Pastry and Koko Black have teamed up in a chocoholic’s dream for just one day, creating the ‘Meteor Cake’.

The astronomical collaboration between Black Star, famous for its cakes (including the World’s Most Instagrammed Cake) and Koko Black, famous for its chocolate comes to Sydneysiders and Melbournites specially for World Chocolate Day on Wednesday, July 7.

Black Star posted a preview on Instagram yesterday, writing: “Your world is about to get a whole lot more… chocolatey. Tomorrow is World Chocolate Day, and to celebrate, Black Star Pastry and Koko Black are colliding for just one day to bring you the Meteor Cake. The actualisation of all your chocolate fantasies, the Meteor cake is 10 layers of indulgence and decadence; it’ll rock your world.”

Resting on a bed of dark chocolate financier and cocoa nibs, luscious layers of caramel chocolate, Muscovado sponge, hazelnut cremeux, a gravity defying chocolate mousse, and praline crunch all delicately blend to make up an otherworldly combination of chocolatey goodness. Sitting atop is a flying meteor, formed from hazelnut truffle and a coat of black cocoa nibs, complete with a blazing Sao Thome chocolate flame and crumbled cocoa nib rubble.
