Banana Boogie wins Great Australian Vanilla Slice Triumph

The Banana Boogie Bakery team won the 2026 The Great Australian Vanilla Slice Triumph

The wins just keep on coming for Banana Boogie Bakery, after the South Australian Bakery was awarded the 2026 Great Australian Vanilla Slice Triumph trophy.

The hotly contested competition was held on August 15, and saw a number of familiar names return to battle it out for the title. Rounding out the top three in the Professional Vanilla Slice category was Hudaks Bakery in second place an Sunraysia Bread & Butter Bakery in third place.

Banana Boogie last claimed the top prize in 2024, and said getting the trophy back was “super sweet”.

“What a weekend at the National Vanilla Slice Triumph in Merbein!”they wrote on Facenbook.

“Getting that trophy back was super sweet. After finishing second last year the team came hungry to reclaim the crown – and they absolutely delivered.

“The judges said it was an incredibly close competition this year, which makes the win even more special. And what an effort from the whole baking team. Mitch [got] second place apprentice, Bert [won] third place apprentice and Lauren [won] second place with her pavlova vanilla slice.

“So proud of every single one of them. The skill, dedication and hours that go into getting these slices just right is massive.

“The crown is back where it belongs.”
