Ahead of Bake A Wish Day  on August 27, some of Australia’s brightest baking stars have shared their favourite recipes.

Popular names like Tigga Mac, John Demetrios, Katherine Sabbath and Reece Hignell have all taken part to help inspire Aussies to get creative in the kitchen while also helping to raise money to grant wishes.

Tigga Mac said her Star Cupcake Pull Apart, with its bright yellow Swiss meringue buttercream and marshmallow and M&M face was designed to bring a smile to everyone.

“I love getting creative in the kitchen and when you are doing it for such a good cause, it make it all the more meaningful,” she said.

“With a little assistance from a recipe, anyone can create delicious sweet treats that are sure to be a sellout at their bake sale, and when you get a group together at your school, workplace, or local community, it makes even more fun.

“I want to encourage all Aussies to get on board, download the recipes or use their imagination to get creative in the kitchen, and help make wishes come true for kids who need it most.”

Bake A Wish Australia chief executive officer Sally Bateman said the campaign was a great opportunity for cooks to unlock their imagination, get creative and bring friends, family or colleagues together to help make a meaningful difference to the lives of hundreds of critically ill children.

“Our Bake A Wish campaign give participants the change to help bring to life the wishes of children and teenagers living with a critical illness,” she said.

“We truly appreciate the support of Tigga Mac and the other chefs, cooks and bakers who have provided such inspirational recipes… with their help we hope to inspire some imaginative and creative baking and bring hope and joy to the more than 900 children across Australia currently on their Wish Journey.”

Registrations can be done via the Bake A Wish website, with all recipe cards available to be downloaded.
