Australian Society of Baking president Stewart Baird

The Australian Society of Baking has welcomed a new president, Stewart Baird.

Stewart is the current General Manager of MOI International (Australia), and first joined the bakery and foodservice industry at Unilever in 1998. He has also held positions at Peerless Foods.

Stewart has said his role as president  with the Australian Society of Baking will be to provide overall governance, and assist the board to continue to develop and implement the strategic direction while also ensuring obligations to stakeholders are met.

“My vision for the next two years is to ensure we develop our offering to members in such a way as we are providing a compelling reason to join the society,” he shared.

“My goal is to double our membership during my two year tenure.”

The Australian Society of Baking was first formed in 1970 by Sydney Packham OAM and a group of bakers and allied traders, and in the intervening four decades has continued to provide support and the germination of ideas for members.
