It’s that time of year again, when the best bakers from across New South Wales head to Wollongong to compete at the Baking Association of Australia‘s Wollongong Baking Show.
Held at Cafe V at Illawarra TAFE on August 5, the competition saw 60 exhibitors enter 272 pieces for judging.
The day was declared a success with Champion Loaf of the Show going to Lagom Bakery, while the Champion Cake/Pastry of the Show and Most Successful Cake Exhibitor titles were awarded to Gumnut Patisserie. The Most Successful Bread Exhibitor ribbon was claimed by Hutchisons Bakehouse and for the second year running the Perpetual Trophy went to William Nicolau from Bakers Delight Mittagong.
Planning is now underway for the Bake Skills competition, which will kick off at Fine Food Australia later this month.
