US bakery giant to open in Brisbane

Sweet tooths rejoice!

Aussies know it only from movies, television, social media and other pop-culture references, but they’ll finally get to know what the fuss is about with US bakery giant Cinnabon set to open in Queensland before Christmas.

Famous for their sticky-sweet cinnamon rolls, the secret was given away by an online job ad revealing the dessert-chain’s plans to open down under in the coming weeks.

Although plans have been in the pipeline since January to open a Brisbane store, the ad posted on Seek earlier in October revealed that more stores than previously expected were in the works.

“Cinnabon is America’s favourite Cinnamon Roll and now it’s coming to Australia! Opening multiple stores in BRISBANE this year and we’re looking for solutions-focused people, that love working with people and have a CAN DO attitude,” the job ad reads.

The posting, for Cinnabon store managers revealed multiple positions were available in Mt Gravatt, Chermside, and Mt Ommaney in Brisbane. According to the Courier Mail, a fourth store is set to open in Nundah, and a store in Toombul Shopping Centre to follow.

Queensland family company, the Bansal Group, which has also recently opened six Carl’s Jr burger joints in Queensland, will bring the well-known chain to Australia.

There are no stores open yet, but the arrival of Cinnabon in Australia is eagerly anticipated with the Australian Facebook page already over 14,000 likes.

Although there aren’t a lot of details available at this stage, it has been reported that Cinnabon has ambitious plans for Australia, with 50 intended outlets across the country.
