Puratos presented the Asia Pacific results of its large global consumer study at the Taste Tomorrow event in Tokyo in May. The study involved almost 11,000 participants worldwide and provides unique global and local insights into emerging consumer trends in the baked goods sector – with actionable information for product innovation.
The study identifies ‘power ingredients’ that achieve both taste and health criteria will be increasingly sought by Australian consumers, and are likely to be attractive ingredients for future products.
Clarity in food labelling was also identified as an area consumers will become more interested in, particularly as specialty diets, such as gluten-free, become more prominent.
