When Adam Theobald founded Ordermentum with Andrew Low 10 years ago they heard time and time again from potential customers that their own customers didn’t want to use an app.

But the industry has evolved and the use of apps, technology, and automation is not only commonplace – it’s vital. Today, Ordermentum is used by 43,000 hospitality venues and 1000 quality suppliers and wholesalers all over the country.

Some bakeries have seen their operations change drastically over the years, with streamlined workflow, increased sales, and more resource. Ordermentum users often see their bad debts reduced by up to 75 per cent, and suppliers can choose if they want to be paid upfront or on terms.

What’s most compelling for bakery wholesalers though, is the vast number of venue users the platform attracts. 43,000 venues now using the platform to order goods from suppliers, and many have actually ‘met’ their current bakery supplier on the platform.

“The ease with which customers can place their orders and that we can import that sales data. Originally, we tried to build a similar platform ourselves, but it didn’t work. With Ordermentum, customers come to you, and it’s great to be in a forum that’s specifically catered to food businesses. I think that’s much better than only trying to be found on Google,” Peter Utry, GM at Vili’s Family Bakery, said.
