On March 12 bakers from across New South Wales headed to Newcastle for the Newcastle Baking Show.
Held at the TAFE campus, entries for the 2025 event came from as far afield as Temora.
Bakers Delight Bowral and Bakers Delight Mittagong swept the pool of ribbons at the 2025 show. Bakers Delight Bowral also took home the Champion Loaf of the Show – Arthur Denison Trophy, while William Nicolaou from Bakers Delight Mittagong won Most Successful Bread Exhibitor in addition to the ribbons for 680g White Hi-Top Half Married, 680g Wholemeal Condensed Square, 680g grain loaf, 450g grain cob, traditional crusty baguette, ciabatta loaf, and the Bill Lewis Perpetual trophy.
Coonara Bakery took home Most Successful Cake & Pastry Exhibitor, while Matthew Murray from Brown Sugar Bakery was awarded Champion Cake / Pastry of the Show – Bob Connell Trophy.
Brown Sugar Bakery said the show had seen a great effort from their team.
The next event for the Baking Association of Australia will be the Baking Industry Trade Show, which will be held from July 15-17, at Wentworth Park in Sydney. Registrations will open soon.
