It’s that time of year again – on March 11 bakers from across New South Wales once again headed to Newcastle for the 2026 Newcastle Baking Show.
The immensely popular annual Baking Association of Australia’s competition, held at the Hamilton TAFE campus, once again saw Bakers Delight Mittagong take to the podium after they won the Champion Loaf of the Show – Arthur Denison Trophy as well as the Bill Lewis Perpetual Trophy – the second consecutive year they have claimed the title.
Jacob Maddock from TAFE NSW Hamilton claimed the Champion Cake / Pastry of the Show – Bob Connell Trophy alongside the Most Successful Cake & Pastry Exhibitor title, while Aaron Hall from Bakers Delight Port Macquarie was named Most Successful Bread Exhibitor.
All eyes will now turn to Geelong as final preparations for the 2026 Victorian Baking Show get underway.
The competition will be held on March 14 at the All Seasons Hotel, and once again will also include The Australia’s Best Vanilla Slice and Hot Cross Bun competitions.
