Paul Slaughter has been appointed the new chief executive officer of Mrs Mac’s Family Bakeries, one of the largest Australian-own family bakery groups in the country.

The move comes as the Perth-based pie brand positions itself for significant future growth, both in its traditional categories as well as in broader food categories.

“Paul brings an additional level of professionalism and experience to the Mrs Mac’s team and will position the company for growth and expansion domestically and internationally,” chairman of the board Peter Fallon said.

An experienced senior executive in the food and fast moving consumer goods sectors, Mr Slaughter, who commenced in February, comes to the role with extensive corporate and small business experience both domestically and internationally.

His most recent role was general manager of Metcash food and grocery (IGA) business in Western Australia where he led the wholesale, manufacturing and distribution department. Prior to that, he held a number of senior roles in the food industry including national business manager for Arnott’s Campbell’s, leading the Woolworths Customer Team, and working for a range of smaller West Australian food companies including Anchor Foods.
