The show will follow 12 ‘sugar-hit specialists’ as they compete against each other in pastry-themed challenges to be crowned the Dessert Master and win $100,000.
Senior vice president, Paramount ANZ, Daniel Monaghan said, ‘MasterChef Australia remains much loved by Australian audience, and we are thrilled to expand the bran in the sweetest way possible—with Dessert Masters.’
‘The new series will give pastry chefs a chance to take out the Dessert Masters title, and we can’t wait to see what they create.’
Marty Benson, director of content of EndemolShine Australia, who will be producing the show, said, ‘We are incredibly excited to bring this world first, new addition to the MasterChef family to life for 10 in 2023.’
‘Watching Australia’s best dessert and pastry chefs compete in the MasterChef kitchen in Dessert Masters will deliver some of the greatest sweet treats we have ever seen on Australian TV.’
The new series will take place in the same kitchen that viewers will be used to from 14 series of MasterChef Australia, as well as the same broad format with challenges and judges.
